Pinnacle hand dryer repaired on the wall

Hand Dryer Parts & Repair: Fix It on the Wall

Most hand dryer failures come from a small set of wear parts: the motor, heating element, circuit board, blower wheel and sensor or LED parts. Pinnacle dryers are built with five wear parts that can be replaced with the dryer still on the wall, and replacement parts ship within 24 hours, so a broken unit is back in service quickly.

Common symptoms and likely causes

Symptom Check first
Dead, no response Breaker and GFI; internal power switch; circuit board
Runs but no heat Heating element; over-temperature protection
Weak or noisy airflow Blower wheel, fan cover, motor assembly
Runs constantly or won't start Sensor/LED area dirty or blocked; circuit board

Pinnacle's troubleshooter checklist from the manuals: if the dryer doesn't run when hands go in, check the panel box, then check for power to the circuit board. If it keeps running after the power switch is turned off, replace the switch. If it runs but doesn't get hot, replace the heating element. If it hums but doesn't run, replace the motor. Always kill power at the breaker before opening the unit. Pinnacle's step-by-step guides cover the troubleshooter checklist, parts replacement and cleaning: P3-12S troubleshooting and maintenance guide and PDC-R10 troubleshooting and maintenance guide.

What to keep on the shelf

For a building or district with many units, keep a small kit: a T27 Torx security bit, spare security screws, and one or two of the parts that fail most in your buildings. Your incident log will show which. Standardising on one model keeps the kit small. Part numbers from Pinnacle's manuals (P3-12S / PDC-R10): heating element AP0002 / FHA1000 (both 1000 W), motor 116052 / 116052R10, circuit board 9000-1000 / R10-6, cover 962602 / R10COV, security screw P3BUTSCREW / SS1420. Both models share impeller wheel 0300-1875, LED assembly R10-4 and toggle switch TS105. Routine care keeps calls down: wipe the LED lens cover daily so nothing blocks the sensor (keep harsh chemicals off it), clean the stainless cover and drying chamber with stainless cleaner sprayed onto a cloth rather than into the chamber, and every six months switch off at the toggle switch, remove the cover and dust the interior with a soft bristle brush.

Warranty and repair service

  • 10 years on parts and 3 years on the circuit board for the original purchaser. Covers parts, not labor.

  • Exclusions: vandalism, normal wear, storms and improper installation.

  • Factory repair: if you'd rather send the dryer back, parts under warranty are repaired for a $30 service charge plus freight. Defective parts are returned prepaid with the dryer's serial number.

See the full warranty page.

Repair or replace?

Repair when the housing is sound and parts are available. Replace when the cover is badly damaged, parts are discontinued for an old brand, or the unit isn't ADA compliant. See the hand dryer replacement guide.

Parts for other brands

Pinnacle stocks parts for Pinnacle dryers. If another brand's parts are hard to get, that's often the point to standardise. Our dryers are built for school restrooms.
